What are the issues with remodeling a modular home?

We are looking to buy a modular home that was built in 2002. There are some things that we would like to do, like removing 2 doors, 1 exterior and 1 interior and adding french doors. My father in-law was worried that the walls were a different thickness from "stick built" homes and it wouldnt be possible to do these things without special ordering doors. Is this true or are modular homes built with the same wall thickness? Thanks for any info you have.

Answers:

1The walls are the same thickness so no problen there, but depending on the size and type of the home, look for the height of door that is where you will have to be careful to get the correct one.
