How to plan house ventilation? | |
When you are building a new home or simply redecorating by adding a few walls and partitioning a few rooms here and there, it is important to carefully plan your ventilation system. Perhaps you have enough windows but additional ventilation is to be considered especially when you have hot summers in your area.
The simplest way to move air around is to install a ceiling fan replacing a lighting system in the middle of the ceiling. This will circulate the air enough to keep it from getting too heavy and hot.
Another possibility, when you tend to have hotter summers than a normal human can bear, is installing an air conditioner, which produces cold air itself instead of circling the hot air around. It costs more but is your best friend in summer.
Air-to-air heat pumps are similar to conditioners, only they have an additional feature – the ability to turn also cold air into hot, which is very useful in places with cold winters. The air-to-air heat pump can successfully serve as the whole heating system in the house.
Apart from all the machines you should critically examine the house and consider installing additional ventilation openings where possible to create a more intense natural airflow.
